Grill: A 20-year-old Webber 22.5" Kettle with a Slow and Sear
Thermometers: A Maverick ET732, A Thermapen, a few miscellaneous thermometers
Misc: I just seem to keep buying things.

    Sunday dinner

I went to the store to get something to grill for dinner. Was looking for a flank or skirt but came home with shrimp. Perfect night for some boiled shrimp here on the gulf coast. It’s humorous to me because often I go to the store to get toothpaste and come back with a brisket and ribs. This time I go to get meat and comeback meatless. Although it doesn’t get better than wild caught fresh gulf shrimp. Click image for larger version

Tis' very, very good. I get fresh wild caught about every 3 weeks up here in Wisconsin. An outfit trucks it up from Galveston. Last go around was a week late due to Harvey.

Obi-Dan, the guy gives me a break cause I did him a favor awhile back, although still expensive at 15 a lb. I also got some red snapper at 9.99 a lb. I can not find fresh gulf shrimp or snapper anywhere else around.

FireMan That’s a pretty good price on that snapper actually. And man is that good eating. I won’t tell you what I paid for the shrimp.

Some folks in the small town I grew up in had a shrimping boat. I still crave that boiled stuff. A seafood place in town just opened up, I so need to check out their boiled shrimp.

          That looks really good.

In '71 while in the Navy and stationed in Pensacola, some buddies and I decided to go to Mobile Al because, well, none of us had ever been there. So off we go driving along the coast of Mobile Bay. On the way we passed a number of small shacks with restaurant sings hanging out front. We decided to stop at one on the way back. We did and we asked for $4 worth of shrimp as an appetizer for the four of us. Then we ordered food. Well, the waitress brought a large oval steak plate with a huge mound of shrimp and four soup bowls of cocktail sauce. We ate and ate, and ate some more and we were thoroughly stuffed when the food arrived. Fun times...

Fresh Shrimp doesn't happen often for us in Minnesota, a least not your kind of shrimp that really is fresh. You made me hungry for some seafood. Nice cook!!

If you have a Weber Kettle, you need the Slow 'N' Sear

The Slow 'N' Sear turns your grill into a first class smoker and also creates an extremely hot sear zone you can use to create steakhouse steaks.

The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

            the good one grill
The Good-One Open Range is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.

Griddle And Deep Fryer In One

            Pit Barrel Cooker Smoker
The flat top does the burgers and the fryer does the fries. Use the griddle for bacon, eggs, and home fries. Or pancakes, fajitas, grilled cheese, you name it. Why stink up the house deep frying and spatter all over? Do your fried chicken and calamari outside. Blackstone's Rangetop Combo With Deep Fryer does it all!

            Pit Barrel Cooker Smoker
The PBC has a rabid cult following for good reason. It is absolutely positively without a doubt the best bargain on a smoker in the world. Period. This baby will cook circles around the cheap offset sideways barrel smokers because temperature control is so much easier.
