    Are there archives somewhere?

    Huskee or any moderators who might know. I was trying to look up an old post of mine about a brisket cook bc I remember having some detailed notes on times and temps. It looks like the beef section in recipes and techniques only goes back 20 pages or to July 4, 2017. Where as other sections go to 2014. Does the site only hold the last 20 pages of a given section or are all the previous posts archived somewhere? I see my pictures from that cook in my media but was looking for the written part.

    This is a great question. You should be able to access any post you have made. As far as I know. Do you remember the name of the post? If you could not find it, I may be able to look it up on my end. Also, do you remember when you made the post?

      I don't remember the name of the post but it was about a brisket cook that was disappointing. From the order of the pictures in my media archive i'd say it was probably around march 2016 give or take a month.

    Oh! If you have the picture in your archive, click on the photo. Then as it opens you will see a camera roll on the bottom of all of your pictures, kinda like a camera roll. In between your open picture and the scroll it will say,

    Posted by : JCBBQ in (insert name of thread in question)

    Then click on the Thread Name and it should take you there.

    Try that and see if it works. And let me know.

    Interesting .... I searched for any post started by JCBBQ with a keyword of brisket and found nothing. Then, I searched for posts I started with the keyword “ribs” .... which I know I’ve posted a lot of, going all the way back to me joining way back in 2014. Found lots of posts with that keyword, but none by me. Then I went into my “recent posts” and found that I only have 6 pages worth, going back not that far.

          Spinaker Interestingly, after I found my thread and recalled the title -"The Sad Chronicle of a Failed Brisket Cook on Primo Oval XL (w pics)" - I did a two word search for sad and brisket and then for Primo and brisket. It came up in both searches. Point is your initial response was dead on. If you can come up w the title or part of it then you can find it. However your back door approach through the pics was money! Thanks for your help.

          Spinaker I've noticed this before, but it may be pertinent to this thread. If you go to one of the popular channels such as General topic, you can browse through 20 pages. Dates are yesterday at the top of page 1 through July 11, 2017 at the bottom of page 20. If you change the filter to date started and ascending order, page 1 starts with June 4, 2014 and page 20 ends with August 27 2014. So how do you browse posts dated between August 2014 and July 2017? (This is hardly an important issue, just curiosity).

            Change the filter in the top right hadn't corner to "All Time" I think that is what you are asking, if not, let me know.

            Spinaker - That's not the point. If you set the filter to descending (default) you get 20 pages from now back to July 2017. If you change the filter to ascending, you get 20 pages of topics from Meathead's first in June 2014 up to August 2014. So there appears no way to view posts for (say) April 2016. That's with "all time" set.

            Now I got ya. Yeah it does not appear that you can manually scroll through all the posts. They are still in the system you just have to be creative to dig it up.

          johnec00 OMG, how many times have I been on this site, seen what you described above but never really processed it and certainly never tried to change the filter!! Crazy what you see but don't observe.

            vBulletin's search leaves a lot to be desired. We are limited to and at the mercy of the software's limitations. And yes, it is frustrating to search here when we are used to well oiled machines like Google.
