    Epic screen FAIL!!!!!!

I opened up my briefcase at noon to get my laptop out and jump on AR.......and this is what happened when I open the screen! Somehow I got an old phone case caught in between the screen and the keyboard then shut it and threw it in my briefcase. The pressure must have been too much and the screen is now toast! Luckily, I was still able to use my external screen to post a few things and I thought I would be able to manage but it is a no go. To boot, the cost of fixing the screen on my 6 year old MacBook was almost 2/3 what it would be for a new Mac book so I bit the bullet and got a new one. :/ No fun. Now I gotta get back on the water and blow off some steam......

I have broken one screen in about 20 years of laptops. Hopefully I never do it again.

Ooohhh. Yea, that looks nasty! My old MacBook is ancient. Probably an 07 model. I still travel with it but want a new one. Dang they aren't cheap! I don't need that silly icon bar they put on there. I may bight the bullet soon. Still recovering from the two 27" 5K iMacs from last year!

lonnie mac Yeah I opted for the Mac Book Pro with out the slide bar. I don't need need that either. I really like the keyboard on this new one though.

I hear ya on the 27" Macs. That is what I have at my desk, at work. Not cheap, then again, neither was this laptop I just had to buy. :/ I could find a mighty nice Offset for that price!

I was just thinking the same thing. Tough break, Spinaker . I'm sorry this happened to such a nice guy as you!

Macs nail you in the wallet each time you purchase, but they sure are elegant machines. I use both at my desk, Mac and PC; I heart the Mac and swear at the PC from time to time.

Thanks for the kind words Kathryn. if this is the worst thing that happens me to this year, I will be just fine. I agree with you on the Macs, they are elegant machines. I switched from PC about 8 years ago, never going back.

Perhaps a gentle scolding to help ease the issue?

Spinaker Once, 'round about 2001-2, I rather inelegantly plopped one of Motorola's first flip phone$$$, whilst removin ' a drain oil pan from underneath th' Cosmic Ark, right into th' pan, outta my front coveralls pocket.
My next cell phone, it got run over by an' '86 GM Defense CUCV M1009.
Certain ' bout that, 'cause I was th' driver...

Great photo. You could have found an easier way to kill your phone, though.

Dude that sucks. But I'm afraid it's just a continuation of your MCS.
It has now transferred into " more computer syndrome". Haaaaaaa. Now go catch some fish and relax. Peace brother.

It just happens naturally. Now it's becaome involuntary. Common symptoms of advanced MCS.
