Addition to our family

you guys have been SO great when I lost My Beautiful Mayhem and later My Darling Tovi. You all saw the transformation the Amazing Tangle has made since we brought her home form the shelter and watch My Sweet Mischief grow up.

Well, now, we are going to have a new addition to our family! When Mischief came home, he had a GORGEOUS, I mean absolutely beautiful cousin, Daphne Blake. she almost came home with us, except that The Amazing Tangle, well, she's a bit.... Jealous. she doesn't like other ladies in her turf. so, we determined to bring home a boy. and that gave us the Sweetest boy in the world, Mischief!

well, I told my breeder, when the Gorgeous Daphne has puppies, I want one! the plan was, when Daphne was about 2 1/2 years old, she'd be bred, maybe even after she had achieved her championship. and Mischief's brother, Jetson, went to live with her and they both began lighting up the rings.

Then, one day, Daphne cast that "Hey Big Boy..." look to jetson and, he took her up on that offer.

60 days later, Jetson is the VERY proudly strutting Poppa to 10, count em, TEN beautiful babies! 5 of each, 3 of them white, the rest, Flashy Fawn. (Meanwhile, Mischief & Jetson's mom was also pregnant, this one intentionally, and she had 6 babies). So, with Jetson accomplishing my dream mating, we will be bringing home, Plunder. He will earn his adjective in time, but in about 8 weeks, Plunder will join our family. I don't know which of the boys it would be, but here is the litter! I am SO very excited!!

Wouldnt have any other kind of dog.
We've been through six Boxers over the years and all their ashes line my mantel.
Lost our last Boxer Katy recently to a brain tumor. When I can look at here picture or ashes and I smile rather than become sad it's time for two more.

Well, if you're interested in a great puppy, Misty has a few available! Yeah, Boxers are THE most marvelous "all round" dogs. a good, medium size, excellent temperament, goofy clowns who never outgrow puppyhood, loyal as the day is long, ready to defend but slow to become aggressive, and beautiful! about their only drawback is a short lifespan. I guess G-d had to take something away from the perfect dog. that just means we get to have more of them in our lives.

the only thing I hope is that they don't move up much more in the popularity category. that is always horrible for the breed. But, anyone who has ever had a Boxer knows how marvelous they are. few would ever choose a different breed over a boxer. One day, I might be too old to handle a dog so big. then, I'll probably go with a Frenchie or a Pug. But, as long as I can, I'll have my Boxers. usually 3 so that when I lose one, the others have another to lean on, with me.

My best friend growing up, whose house I spent a great portion of my childhood and teenage years, had a boxer, Dawn. She was great. Very loving loyal dogs.

It's kinda funny..
The best boxer I ever had was a two year old who hadnt been treated right by the original owner.
After a year of loving care and a butt whipping or two he became the best boxer I've ever had.

Boxers, indeed any of the Bully Breeds (descendants of the now extinct Bullenbeisers) as well as the Terrier group,MUST have a firm hand. dogs in general are pack animals but these dogs, especially since they are powerful, MUST be aware of who is in charge at all times. but, almost every dog who has ever been in a shelter tends to be an extremely good pet. and for the saddest reason ever. They have been alone. their owners have abandoned them or they have gotten lost and couldn't find their way home and they never ever want that to happen again. like a child who has been abused all their lives, they become the constant apologists, doing absolutely everything they can to make sure they never get abandoned again. To this day, Tangle will NOT go out the front door unless she is wearing a leash or, if Dad just came home and she runs directly to him. she never ever makes us chase her.

Shelter dogs are just SO grateful to have a home again, they are THE most eager to please.

No worries. while they are on milk only, you won't have to worry. its when they start getting around that you need to keep your eyes open. cause once theirs are opened. the 5 second rule is out the window!!
