This was my first ever concert. I'm the guy Eddie Vedder yells at.

It's around 1:12:00 in, when they start covering F'ing Up. I was sick as a dog, and didn't know most of the songs since this concert was eight months before Vitalogy came out, so I sat down about 20 minutes before he said something.

      Oh yes!

I love everything classic rock, but my favorite is of the southern rock variety. Love The Eagles, Skynyrd, SRV, Tom Petty.

How about 'Drive by Truckers' covering Petty?

      Another RIP for Petty

And speaking of Texas women and the blues, no one tops the fantastic gravely voice of the late, great Janis Joplin from the 1967 Monterrey Pop Festival ....

A true artist! I recently played this video for my 20 year old Nephew. The kids don't really feel the music like us older folks do. But he still thought it was "badass"! When I told him that Janis would have been 75 years old he just kinda looked at me with that blank stare. I said yup....she's your Nana's age. Mind blown......LOL

      PJBowmaster LOL, that's classic!!

And speaking of 1967, maybe it's the old hippie left in me but I still play this from time to time, even 50 years later. Jack and Jorma doing Spare Chaynge ......

Are you kidding? That's one of the very best albums of the period or anytime! Just straight-out great music!

And switching gears to my man Tinsley Ellis and his new album Winning Hand, the opening cut Sound of a Broken Man.....

        Gary Moore is legit .....

You forgot the Allman Brothers Band, jstjohn83 , THE quintessential southern rock band. From the late, great Gregg Allman's last album, may he rest in peace....

And while we are on the subject of RIPs, here's one of my Gary Moore favorites.....

New here, been paging through a lot of excellent choices. I think I could hang with you all.

When I'm sitting on my deck sipping something cold with a wisp of smoke floating by, this is what it sounds like in my head.

He just seems like the kinda guy who would be sitting there next to me.

Cold drink, wispy smoke and blues like that... brother are you in the right place. A lot of us here don't suffer from noises in our head... we quite enjoy them.

Welcome from the Lowcountry of South Carolina!

Thanks BourBonQ. the Lowcountry is one of my favorite places, and the food has a lot to do with that.

If you don't know Koko Taylor, you'd sure as hell better get busy......

3.1 Nice 'Numb. If my memory serves me right she sang that song with Allman Brothers at the Beacon a few years ago when we went. It was one of the last shows from that yr's Beacon run. Gregg was out sick. We were bummed but Warren took the show in a great direction! Oh yeah..my wife will not let me wear that shirt if she's with me!
