So the Blues, Rock, Punk, and Rockabilly were travelling in separate cars and met at a crossroad, the crash resulted in this:

It is impossible to sit still and listen to this.

Sort of like James Blood Ulmer's song "The Blues had a Baby, and its Name was Rock'N'Roll"!

      Very nice!

Gary Brooker... what an amazing voice! And to think that he and Robin Trower were pretty much hatched from the same egg

Roy Rogers (the singing cowboy, not the blues guitarist) left his brand new boots out on the porch. A bobcat came around and chewed them up. Roy went out with his six shooter, chased it down, and shot it. When he got back Dale Evans asked, "Hey there Roy, is that the cat that chewed your new shoes?"

I'm contributing to the bluesy vibe with a fellow Scotsman who sings like he's from somewhere south of the Mason Dixon line šŸ˜€

It's always struck me how folks in the U.K. seem to get Blues! The greatest British artists were all well schooled in the Blues.

Ok now let's move into this Decade and here is something from a current band. It has a retro sound but they are not members of AARP. Lol

    Welshly Arms out of Cleveland

I have listened to Royal Deluxe. Does quite rock out like Welshly Arms though. It seems a little to produced for me. I've never heard Royal Deluxe live but Welshly Arms is a great live band.

Very nice - reminds me of a cross between Jeff Beck group around the time of Rough and Ready and the original Robin Trower band. That's not to take away from their own performance!

From an AARP certified old fart, I thank you for introducing me to Weshly Arms. I chiseled their name on to the face of my iStone tablet. Seriously though, I do like their sound. Thanks!

    Now for something totally different.

    Let's call it alternative bluegrass

I'm not a real fan of funk, or of "soft jazz". But I would highly, highly recommend that you sit down and finish a good bbq, get a couple fermented beverages inside you, and then blow 18 minutes on this one, because it really kicks tail.

If you don't want to blow the full 18 minutes, then wait until the trumpet player knocks out his solo... but by that time you might be as taken in as I was, and you'll finish it.

Candy Dulfer, "Pick Up the Pieces".

Candy is the real deal. I say that as one who knows (i.e., Iā€™m a trained saxophonist, and have my own Billboard Top 20s.) She knows how to market herself, but she also knows how to play.

As a singer sontwriter, I have a VERY hard time sticking with one band in the later years. I try to stick to folk, but there are soooo many great bands out there.

I'll post up a few in time.

But for now I am DIGGIN Blackberry Smoke! Reminds me of all the years back in the Louisiana bayou's, with a bunch of Mississippi thrown in.
