I've always liked Ace Frehley's cover of New York Groove. It seems grittier to me.

OK I am sure most people here are familiar with this classic song.

You might even know this song was written by Rick Springfield from a true experience in his life. He had a friend named Gary and Gary was dating a woman and Rick was jealous of Gary because he wanted this girl to like him instead of Gary. It didn't work out for Gary and Rick never dated this girl but it made a great song in my opinion.

NOW 40 years later a band I enjoy listening to (Coheed and Cambria) has released a sequel to this song (Not a remake). It assumes Rick did get Jessie's Girl but it doesn't turn out like he wanted it to.

I believe this song and video is brilliant. The actually got Rick Springfield to sing on the track and be in the video.

Also I don't ever recall in music a sequel of a song being released by a band that did not release the original song..
