I've Been Wondering For Awhile Now

I have been curious about a couple of things for awhile now.

    1. What is the average number of members on line in a 24 hour period or per week, if that data is available?
In a lot of cases I see members visiting the site several times a day and asking if that would be taken into account as well?

    2. What is taken into account to determine the top active users?
I often see members with 0 posts listed as top active users, while I can also see other more active users on line at the same time.

Good questions. I'm a several times a day person. However, I will quit Safari and open it back up. Sometimes it goes right to AR and sometimes it resets. I wonder if it displays that I am on the site even when I am not.

Most domains provide tracking information such as total visitors in a time frame and total unique. But it would take an admin to provide that information.

I'm not sure if avg members online is tracked or not, at least inside vBulletin itself. Maybe, but we'd have to ask IT about that (I'll do that, see what they can tell me/us). I say whenever you log in, go to the Forums tab and scroll down to the bottom to Members Online and keep a mental tally.

As far as top posters, that info clearly isn't quite correct. For instance it keeps listing me as top poster and we all know I'm not THAT big of a blabbermouth! Maybe Pit Boss, but surely not me. Right? ... Guys?

Steve B I think you meant most active user. This is precisely where my confusion comes into play as I often see lots of members with 0 posts listed as Most Active Users when I also see known super active users on line when checking.

Yeah @Ischweig I don't get it either. But then again I'm not that concerned about who's logged on or not. I think when anyone of us have something to say we just put it out there for all to see and respond to. So it's a good thing.

Huskee a fist bump back at you. I feel much better now that I know you are on the case as I know you will follow through within reason.

Upon just logging back in I see that No Top Users are on line, thus confounding me once again.

Y'all gotta remember folks have to log into The Pit to get rid of the ads on the free site. Some folks never visit The Pit. They just surf the free side. Crazy, AMIRIGHT?

Pit Boss I only knew about the free side for a long time until one day I was just messing around and found the forums page. Then I only went to the individual forum I was interested in only (probably) PBC for another stretch of time. Kept seeing today's posts and finally clicked on it and it was like a new world from then on for me. Lurked for a little while and then jumped in.

It has been so long since I joined up that I don't remember if I received user instructions or not and or if I paid any attention to them at the time. Perhaps for those active users with 0 posts and etc. should get maybe an email or message notification linked to the how to navigate portion.

Not that it matters, but I am still curious about the dynamics of my original questions just to know how it works.

You did get an intro email that talks about the forum. I'm guessing most folks don't read that whole email. It's long. A reminder email a few months down the road is a good idea!

I've always assumed the most active list near online members was a ranking of those that are online at that moment. I've been on that list a few times and I read a lot more than I post...

The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

                the good one grill
The Good-One Open Range is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.

Griddle And Deep Fryer In One

                Pit Barrel Cooker Smoker
The flat top does the burgers and the fryer does the fries. Use the griddle for bacon, eggs, and home fries. Or pancakes, fajitas, grilled cheese, you name it. Why stink up the house deep frying and spatter all over? Do your fried chicken and calamari outside. Blackstone's Rangetop Combo With Deep Fryer does it all!

The Pit Barrel Cooker May Be Too Easy

                Pit Barrel Cooker Smoker
The PBC has a rabid cult following for good reason. It is absolutely positively without a doubt the best bargain on a smoker in the world. Period. This baby will cook circles around the cheap offset sideways barrel smokers because temperature control is so much easier.
