My latest comp with the Lowland Smokers: Ruhrpott BBQ comp in Germany

This last weekend my team and I competed in the biggest KCBS Sanctioned comp outside the US, the Ruhrpott BBQ comp in Germany. 58 teams from a lot of countries in Europe and even a few US based teams such as Wicked Que from Georgia, Buttrub.com and The BBQ Guru. We didn't do very well but had a great time nonetheless, we ended 48th overall. Anyway, here's a few pics of the event.

Seasoning the Brisket (ps, that's me)

Wow, that sure looked like a HIGH grade brisket. I ain't never touched some fat/muscle striations like that.

I take it that was NOT you working on the ribs.

Thanks for the pics, never been to a comp.

I need a translation off that red van!!

We're really lucky we have a meat sonsor that supplies us with Wagyu briskets and other great meats (the brisket is in the back on the right)

No it was not me working on the ribs :-) we have one lady on our team and she's awesome!

The red van in the back is just a rental from another team, it just says Bo-Rent car rentals

Suprisingly good for the time of year. I live in the Netherlands but the comp was only a 1.5 hour drive. We have another comp this weekend. I'll make sure to let you know how we did.
