You can take the boy out of Texas, but you can't take the Texas out of the boy.

Here's my pictorial extravaganza with Birthday Hat #1...

It started off with a birthday dinner at a Chinese hot pot restaurant. It's not exactly BBQ, but you do cook your own food at the table. Fun stuff.

Next the hat made it's way to judging a KCBS competition in Woodstock, VA.

The other judges didn't know what to think of the new fashion statement I was making with the hat. I'm thinking they were pretty much jealous that they didn't have a cool BBQ hat like I did.

I didn't get to fire up the smoker, but I couldn't resist wearing the hat around some fire and smoke.

First step was to give the flank steak with some mojo criollo marinade a 4-hour swim in the hot tub at 130 while I watched football.

The hat's next stop is an international hop to Belize to celebrate with BradFlood. I started a new tradition by including a small package of my favorite rub in with the hat.

Yeah! I think I'd below the waves most of the time anyway, blowing bubbles and crushing the reef. Who needs top time? Right? BradFlood

Spinaker. Been busy getting acclimated. Hoping to get my first dive in by end of the week. For sure, as they say in the Lil Mermaid "It's always better down where it's wetter..." The reef, and everything about it, is incredible!

Hope all has been well for everyone on here and hope our fellow texans and floridians made it out of this hurricane season alright.

The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

            the good one grill
The Good-One Open Range is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.

Griddle And Deep Fryer In One

            Pit Barrel Cooker Smoker
The flat top does the burgers and the fryer does the fries. Use the griddle for bacon, eggs, and home fries. Or pancakes, fajitas, grilled cheese, you name it. Why stink up the house deep frying and spatter all over? Do your fried chicken and calamari outside. Blackstone's Rangetop Combo With Deep Fryer does it all!
