    Is this it?

Approaching the middle of November and here in SE Wisconsin we have another beautiful weekend with temps in the mid 50's and crystal clear skies. Decided to do a small (4 lb) brisket flat on the Weber with the SnS, rubbed with Meatheads BBBR and a generous amount of mesquite wood added to the coals. We're about 3 hours into it and the meat is in the 170 range. I'll probably pull it and faux cambro it in about 45 minutes or so. And yes, I'll post a picture of the slicing because I know that without it, it didn't happen.

My gut tells me that winter is about to hit soon in a big way and I'm not a winter griller. When the snow starts flying my outdoor cooking is done for the season. Wish me luck on what could possibly be my last outdoor cook until April or May of 2017.

Here's to hoping this is not yer last cook of the year! I can see how outdoor grilling in the winter can have a reduced fun factor. Frost bite, snow drifts, temp management etc. You can always come park in our south 40 here in Arizona if you wanna!

Oh, one last thing... George Foreman grillin' on yer counter top is not real grillin'.

I saw Sibera has tons of snow, some places got 10ft in a few days, supposedly that means a really cold winter for the U.S.

I feel for you ribeyeguy I'm in the northeast and some but not all winters can be brutal. I do try to cook all winter long but if it's too damn cold and snowy it just ain't any fun.
I'm planning to do some ribs thanksgiving weekend. And hoping to do a spatchcocked turkey on Christmas we'll see.
Good luck with your brisket. Looking forward to the pics.

I know the SnS won't let me down, the only thing that'll let me down is me. Believe me, I've tried to get fired up about grilling in the winter but then I look at putting on layers of clothes, clearing snow off the grill, maintaining a hot fire in sub-zero weather.......well, Pizza Hut or a baloney sandwich wins out every time. Maybe this year will be different, we'll see.

And speaking of cold, this prick of a brisket has decided to stall at 170 and it's getting cold outside. I just added a few more briquettes and cranked the vents wide open to try and push through it. I'm giving it 30 minutes to get its act together and if it doesn't cooperate by then it's going to be ovened. I'm actually getting pissed, I never thought I'd find myself bitching at a hunk of meat.

Sorry to hear that winter is about to arrive. Hoping you'll be able to get some more cooks in before it gets bad. The older I get the less I like to go out in the cold, and that's Tennessee winters, so moving 400 miles south to the Florida panhandle will help me a lot.

Enjoy the cook! Something I remember from the days living at home is that special taste of summer stays the taste of "summer" when you don't grill in the winter. There's something to be said for that.

I've spent the last 3 days (my days "off") raking leaves and pine needles and burning them. It just dipped to 40 deg and started getting really windy here, and dark. I wish I was smoking a brisket!

Done. It shot up to 195, probably too quickly but it was fairly probe tender so I pulled it, wrapped it and it's now resting. I'd like to let it rest for an hour or so but my wife and I are both hungry so we'll probably cut into it in the next half hour. Photos will be posted soon.

I live a couple hrs north of you & can empathize with you on the cold. But, I don't let it stop me from cooking once a week instead of my 4 times a week in non-winter. My cut off is below 20, then I will shy away. But hey one can always do the quick cook stuff like bergs, brats, chicken, chops, & steaks. Although, I would like to do a mid-winter cook out in a park for some friends. Don't let a little cold get in the way, a lot cold, well I'll give that one to you. In the end it all is a mindset.
I once heard someone say of the up north weather (I'm not quite up there), that there are two seasons, winter & winter's coming. Smoke or in this case at least grill on!
