This link has a bunch of benefits - not just food.

It might be a good idea to call first - sometimes a local franchise might not participate.

My benefit is that I served my country. I'm good with that.

It's great that restaurants offer discounts but it would take me 2 hours at least to find the DD214 that would make me eligible so I'll pass.

I ran payroll today so my people can bank tomorrow since the banks are closed on Friday. We'll all be working. Happy Veteran's Day!

billg71 - there is a link on that page on how to get a veterans ID. Find that old DD214 once and with the ID, you can get "extra" benefits. I got mine through the DMV in VA.

Whats nice about living in TX is that they put "veteran" on your DL and on your CHL. Problem solved.

I agree that my benefit was that I served my country. I also learned my electronics in the military, which has given me a good career. But I like that people give military discounts. I shop at Lowes and Home Depot a lot, and both of them give a 10% discount to military. I have saved a lot of money there over the years. I didn't ask for them to do it, but I will certainly take advantage of it!

When I was a younger man, I spent many a night on bridge watch punching holes in the Northern Pacific looking for God-Knows-What and discussing what we would do on holidays like this one when we left service. BBQ with friends and family was one of the topics that always came up.

Tomorrow, I'm dropping 4 tri tips into my Coast Guard labeled PBC (Semper Paratus, Noah!) for my friend's JC swim meet and dinner. Hard for me to think of a better way to spend the day...
