Currently 75 degrees and gorgeous in Northwestern suburbia in Illinois. Yet the high tomorrow is supposed to be 64, followed by Thursday 58. I'd have better luck gambling on football scores than guessing weather here!

Here in Central KY it's 82 right now. Maybe all the greenhouse gasses coming off our cookers? Between my smoker, grill and firepit, I've surely done some heavy damage to the ozone layer this year. Not to mention some methane that may or may not have been emitted while sipping on some brewskies and tending the all day cooks. I'm truly sorry.

Dallas is a toasty 85. I think later this week cold front is supposed to come in to get us down to high of 73 LOL.

It got to a whopping 48 here in The Great State of Jefferson (NorCal). We're at 4000', but still, it's only October. Add 13" of rain for the month and this is one of goofiest weather patterns we've had here for a long time. It sure beats 4 years of sustained drought, though.

Memphis was a very warm 84 today and they announced on the weather segment on TV that we had the warmest October on record in Memphis this year. Go figure, I am certainly ready for it to cool down some after a hot humid Summer.

It hit 68 F at lake Winnebago. Will cool off, but something is nagging at me that we're going to be in for a cold winter with a fair amount of snow.

I'm liking this. I might get to go deer hunting Saturday morning and the low will be around 50 degrees. Even though it is pretty cold where I work I'm not ready for 30 degree hunting weather.

However, I will occasionally have a vanilla porter float in the summer (Empyrean Vanilla Porter w/a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream) as I usually drink stouts & porters in the colder months, pale ales & IPAs in the warmer months. I have to add Not Your Father's Root Beer to beers I use for floats.

                        * - Wines - Reds: mainly the heavy stuff mixed in with the occasional pinot noir ( I have yet to meet a malbec I didn't like); Whites: German & Nebraska (hey, I have to support the home team)

Now that you mention it, we still have the a/c turned on. I'm sure once the cold weather hits here we will be shoveling snow about every other day.

The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

                      the good one grill
The Good-One Open Range is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.

The flat top does the burgers and the fryer does the fries. Use the griddle for bacon, eggs, and home fries. Or pancakes, fajitas, grilled cheese, you name it. Why stink up the house deep frying and spatter all over? Do your fried chicken and calamari outside. Blackstone's Rangetop Combo With Deep Fryer does it all!

                      Pit Barrel Cooker Smoker
The PBC has a rabid cult following for good reason. It is absolutely positively without a doubt the best bargain on a smoker in the world. Period. This baby will cook circles around the cheap offset sideways barrel smokers because temperature control is so much easier.

At its crux is a patented firebox that burns logs above the cooking chamber and sucks heat and extremely clean blue smoke into the thermostat controlled oven. It is our favorite smoker, period.
