OK, one of the best philanthropic Kickstarters

I saw this on TV a few weeks ago and it came up on Kickstarter. This guy has designed a wheel chair that is made of bicycle parts, making it easy to source. it has hand pumping power, is all terrain, and you can either donate enough to build a whole one or any portion. they are sending out free how to guides so locals can build them and repair them cause there are bike repair shops all over. It is just an amazing project. if you can, put a litte into this project as it is giving opportunity to an entire life cycle of peope in the third world.

BTW, I know i usually only post cooking related kickstarters, and I apologize if this one is out of bounds. but, someone who receives one of these chairs might just start a BBQ shop, who knows? I just seriously think this one is amazing.

and if you watch the video, they don't showcase this part as much, but the handles are also the propulsion system. so you don't need someone pushing. It really is a well thought out design. I spent three months in a wheelchair when i broke my knee, another couple when I broke my back. I don't even want to think about the life of isolation in a hut in the third world, unable to go anywhere because of the need for a wheelchair but still, no access for it anywhere. this makes all of that more accessible.
