Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night

So says the Post Office. I know that lots of people brave harsh environmental conditions to get outside and cook. We don't have much of that in the Bay Area, but i have cooked in 100 degree plus temps and in the dark. But for the last couple of weeks I have not even pretended to consider cooking out. Why? The *@%$*#&!! flu... I can't remember when I was quite this sick, and as I am finally coming back to normal, my wife came down with it. My poor cookers are lonely!

Anybody brave the little virus beasties and still manage to turn out some good Que, even if you can't smell or taste it?

I can't do much when I have the flu. However, before the cold/flu season starts I BBQ a big batch of chicken and then make chicken soup out of it. I put it in the freezer and wait until I need it.

The flu sux! I had it once and don't want to get it again. My Dr told me that the shot is at max benefit about 2 weeks after I get it. It slowly declines in effectiveness after that. The last time I had the flu, it was at the end of the season and I had gotten the shot at the beginning of the season. So now I wait for the number of cases of the flu to start to increase in my area before getting the shot.

Kaiser Health put out a notice about the efficacy of flu shots, and recommended that those more mature types (us old farts) wait until between Halloween and Thanksgiving to get the shot. Now I don't know if I will bother at all. It rarely hits twice - kinda like lightning!

I think I've had the flu once, maybe twice, in my almost 65 years on the planet. Guess I'm lucky enough not to have to bother with the shot - so far.

I usually just hole up and make a cocoon in the bed with a box of tissues and a small TV and my Alexa remote to call HWMO when i need something. then, he does the same.

I had that a few days ago, was in bed with the fever, chills, muscle aches, and borderline migraine headache Tues morning thru Thurs mid-day. Thankfully no other symptoms besides those. I used my trusty Thermapen to tell me my temp, a steady 102-103 for over 48hrs. (Yes, it got Cloroxed well after). I was NOT going to move, much less cook. My lovinf wife made me a couple grilled ham & cheese sammies. My appetite came back Weds and they sounded so good, and were.

I get sick every year a few days after getting my mandatory flu shot. Never used to before that.
