    Meathead's Book

    I've been working my way through "Meathead: The Science of Great Barbecue and Grilling." What a wonderful book. It's incredibly informative. And, it reads very well. Kudos to Mr. Goldwyn! I look forward to reading his next offering.

      Thanks Friends74! But this was SUCH a huge time suck writing and marketing it has taken away time I want to spend working on the website. I don't think there will be a sequel. And thanks oldsteve, I had not seen that plug from Amazon. The book has been consistently in the top 100 of all 8 million books on Amazon. Beyond my wildest dreams.

        Meathead although I've been a devoted fan of AmazingRibs.com for 6 or 7 years now, and I believe it to be the greatest compendium of outdoor cooking knowledge that there is, I also bought your book. I don't even buy grilling books anymore because AmazingRibs is so great. Especially when combined with this fantastic forum. But I bought this book.

        I know it was a massive undertaking for you. But it is an incredible trove of information and recipes. In my humble opinion it is to grilling and smoking what Mastering the Art of French Cooking was to French cooking in the home kitchen.

        In fact, I was just taking a break from earning a living, flipped the book open to the section on turkey. I'm getting ready to smoke a turkey for the first time on the new WSM and wanted to refresh myself on the technique.

              I've bought some other bbq books and magazines before and never has one of them been as informative as this one, between this forum and that book I'll now have the confidents to try smoking/grilling/cooking new cuts of meat I've never tried before. Thank you from North of the Border for your time and energy you put into this book Meathead. My Family, Friends and Neighbors will soon be reaping the rewards of said hard work.
