It reminds me of the sequence in "The Cider House Rules" in which the fruit pickers burned the piece of paper that had the rules prohibiting getting up on the roof of the cider house, and in the next scene they were all up on the roof. Maybe if someone removed or tipped the piano sign face down...

I bought a chessboard cake from the bakers last week.

Took one bite, looked up, and said, “It’s stale mate.”

He seemed surprised and said, “No, mate.”

So I handed him the cake and said, “Check mate.”

Only a farm kid would see it this way!

When you're from the farm, your perception is a little bit different.

A farmer drove to a neighbor's farmhouse and knocked at the door. A boy, about 9, opened the door.

"Is your dad or mom home?" said the farmer.

        "No, they went to town."

"How about your brother, Howard? Is he here?"

"No, he went with Mom and Dad."

The farmer stood there for a few minutes, shifting from one foot to the other, mumbling to himself, when the young boy says, "I know where all the tools are, if you want to borrow one, or I can give Dad a message. ”

"Well," said the farmer uncomfortably. "No, I really want to talk to your Dad, about your brother Howard getting my daughter Suzy pregnant."

The boy thought for a moment, then says, "You'll have to talk to my Dad about that. I know he charges $500 for the bulls and $150 for the pigs, but I have no idea how much he charges for Howard."

I have to add Not Your Father's Root Beer to beers I use for floats.

A man was sitting on the edge of the bed, watching his wife, who was looking at herself in the mirror.
Since her birthday was not far off, he asked what she’d like.
“I’d like to be 8 again,” she replied, still looking in the mirror.
On the morning of her birthday, he woke up early, made her a nice big bowl of Froot Loops, and then took her to Adventure World. What a day! He put her on every ride in the park: the Death Slide, the Wall of Fear, the Screaming Roller Coaster, everything there was.
Five hours later, they staggered out of the theme park. Her head was reeling and her stomach felt like it was upside down. He took her to a McDonald’s where he ordered her a Happy Meal with extra fries and a chocolate shake.
Then it was off to a movie with popcorn, a soda and her favorite candy, M&M’s. What a fabulous adventure!
Finally she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed, exhausted.
He leaned over his wife with a big smile and lovingly asked, “Well dear, what was it like being 8 again?”
Her eyes slowly opened and her expression suddenly changed.
“I meant my dress size, you idiot!”

This one is for anyone who has been and/or has had to deal with a teenage boy:

A young boy had just gotten his driver's license and inquired of his father if they could discuss the use of the car.

His father took him to the study and said to the boy, "I'll make a deal with you, son. You bring your grades up from a C to a B-average, study your Bible, and get your hair cut, and, then, we'll talk about the car."

Well, the boy thought about that for a moment and decided that he'd best settle for the offer, and they agreed.

After about six weeks the boy came back and again asked his father about the car.

Again they went to the study and the father said, "Son, I've been really proud of you. You've brought your grades up, and I've observed that you've been studying your Bible and participating a lot more in Bible study class on Sunday morning, but I'm really disappointed that you haven't gotten your hair cut."

The young man paused a moment and then said, "You know, Dad, I've been thinking about that, and I've noticed in my studies of the Bible that Samson had long hair, Moses had long hair, John the Baptist had long hair, and there's even strong evidence that Jesus had long hair."

The dad nodded wisely and then leaned over and whispered to his son, "You're right, son, and did you also notice that they all WALKED everywhere they went?"

How to Maintain a Healthy Level
            Of Insanity in RETIREMENT...

            1.
At lunch time, sit in your parked car with sunglasses on, point a hair dryer at passing cars and watch them slow down!

            2.

On all your check stubs, write, "For Sexual Favors"

            3.

Skip down the street rather than walk, and see how many looks you get.

            4.

With a serious face, order a Diet Water whenever you go out to eat.

            5.

            Sing along at The Opera.

            6.

When the money comes out of the ATM, scream 'I Won! I Won!'

            7.

When leaving the Zoo, start running towards the car park, yelling, 'Run For Your Lives! They're Loose!'

            8.

Tell your children over dinner, 'Due to the economy, we are going to have to let one of you go....'

            9.

Pick up a box of condoms at the pharmacy, go to the counter and ask where the fitting room is.

And The Final Way To Keep A Healthy Level Of Insanity: My Favorite...

            10.

Go to a large Department store's fitting room, drop your drawers to your ankles and yell out, "There's no paper in here!"

The teacher gave her fifth grade class an assignment: Get their parents to tell them a story with a moral at the end of it. The next day, the kids came back and, one by one, began to tell their stories.

There were all the regular types of stuff: spilled milk and pennies saved. But then the teacher realized, much to her dismay, that only Janie was left.

"Janie, do you have a story to share?"

'Yes ma'am. My daddy told me a story about my Mommy. She was a Marine pilot and her plane got hit. She had to bail out over enemy territory, and all she had was a flask of whiskey, a pistol, and a survival knife.

She drank the whiskey on the way down so the bottle wouldn't break, and then her parachute landed her right in the middle of 20 ISIS fighters. She shot 15 of them with the pistol, until she ran out of bullets, killed four more with the knife, until the blade broke, and then she killed the last ISIS fighter with her bare hands."

''Good Heavens,' said the horrified teacher. What did your Daddy tell you was the moral to this horrible story?"

"Don't get Mommy angry when she’s been drinking."

The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

            the good one grill

The Good-One Open Range is a charcoal grill with an offset smoke chamber attached. It is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. The grill sits low in front and doubles as a firebox for the smoke chamber which is spliced on above and behind so it can work like a horizontal offset smoker only better. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.

            Pit Barrel Cooker Smoker

The flat top does the burgers and the fryer does the fries. Use the griddle for bacon, eggs, and home fries. Or pancakes, fajitas, grilled cheese, you name it. Why stink up the house deep frying and spatter all over? Do your fried chicken and calamari outside. Blackstone's Rangetop Combo With Deep Fryer does it all. Plus it has a built in cutting board, garbage bag holder, and paper towel holder. An additional work table on the left side provides plenty of counter space.
