So, I went back to the company where I bought my last one. not the video camera but the still. couple of years ago I was looking for a decent digital. hadn't bought one in about 10 years. I wanted a DSLR for quality. So, I start shopping the pawn shops. they had little or nothing and wanted a fortune. I called a local family owned camera company. they pointed me to KEH. It is in Atlanta and they are really good folks. I bought a Canon 10D last time. this time, I upgraded! WOOHOO! I bought a Canon 20D in excellent condition. $79 for the camera body and $5 flat rate for shipping. Since they are in Hotlanta and I'm in ChattaVegas, it actually arrived in 19 hours.

this was body only. Lens is separate but they do include a battery and charger. I was able to use the lens from my old camera and I'll probably sell my old one back to them. I won't get more than $10-$20 but it is better than a paperweight in the way or just tossing it.

They do warranties and trade ins. if you have an older camera you no longer use, like a Canon 20D dinosaur, you can sell it to them so they can sell it to people like me! Good looking shots and equipment!

I spend some amount of time on a camera forum that has members from top professionals to snobby amateurs to rank beginners, and everything in between. You wouldn't believe how some people nit pick the newest high resolution very expensive cameras and think that anything more than a few months old is obsolete. And yet there are many many many examples of great shots taken with 10D's, 20D's, old Nikons, and more than a few point and shoots. A good eye and a steady hand (and good lighting!) and the tool becomes less important unless you are doing highly technical photography. You don't need a hundred dollar hammer to pound a nail, and you don't need hand made French copper pot and pans to cook a good meal. Sometimes it does make it fun, though. Anyway, for anyone else looking for used camera equipment, KEH has a great reputation, and Adorama and B&H Photo are two of the biggest and best camera stores, and they also buy and sell used equipment at good prices.

Now, if someone could invent a camera that could let us smell and taste the food on this site, that would be a real accomplishment!

well, I have been a Space nerd my whole life. My dad was an electronics designer at Pax River, where I was born, so I had the program fed to me with my formula. Astronomy Picture Of The Day is my homepage and the pictures are always astonishingly gorgeous! several years ago, after having met many of my astronaut heroes, I ran across what I considered THE most gorgeous photo of the Moon, EVER. I contacted the photog and badgered him into having three wrapped canvas prints made for me. I have # 12, #1 is in Dick Gordon's Dining Room and #2 is in Alan Bean's Art Studio. Mine has 20+ astronaut and Apollo era signatures on it. and hangs in my living room.

When Alan received his, he loved it, and asked for the contact info for the photog. they were on the phone together, for nearly an hour and the photog was SO excited! It was all very cool. and he took this marvelous picture, now hanging in the homes of two Apollo Astronauts, with a Canon 20D. I guess it'll do for my measly pork chops....

I was the unofficial "Official Photographer" for a small National Gun Magazine for several years. I made many cover shots and illustrated many articles I had written, also. My first truly satisfactory all 'round SLR was the Canon 20D. I now have a 7D as well as a couple of other Canon SLR's but have fond memories of the 20D. You did GOOD!

You'll have few problems with photos as long as you do your part! Remember, proper use of flash is your friend. The same light modifiers that work for wedding location photography will do just fine for food.
