It has a slightly larger cook surface than a Smokey Joe. Depends what you "need it to do while mobile". Should fit 9 medium size burgers. The fold out shelve and electric ignition are nice features for this little portable.

Walked into Target to do some clothes shopping for the kids, look over and see this Q1200 marked 60 bucks off. Do I need it, no. Do I want it, kind of. Here's the dilemma. Recently got to use a Q2100 while on vacation at my families cabin. Was really happy with how well it performed, and the portability of it. I was looking at getting one of these units for going to the beach, camping, tailgating, etc.. Theres about 100 cubic inches difference in surface area between the 1200 and 2100. Does anyone have experience with the smaller one, and is it enough area to do what you need it to do while mobile? Hard to pass up a 60 dollar off Q, but if it's too small, I'd rather wait and get the larger one that is 250.00 regular price.
