    Hey musicians...

I know we have several musicians around here...and...some of you record...

When I record, I generally wear a set of audio-technica headphones (closed back because I don’t want to hear anything else, ESPECIALLY when playing my Variax)...and when mixing, I usually use a pair of Beyerdynamic (semi-open for a wider field). Both work great...most of the time. But even using Waves plugins, it’s still different than using regular speakers...and sharing the sound with others is a pain. I’d rather not buy several sets of headphones and an amp.

And I want to start recording more...again. LOL

I kinda like the idea of speakers that are somewhat portable, like the iLoud speakers from IK Multimedia. And their Acoustic Room Correction sounds like a great thing to use while traveling...I could conceivably “correct” hotel rooms, living rooms, wherever. Seeing as I don’t have a dedicated studio or mixing booth.

The Micro Monitors may have potential, but their size is a little worrisome. But the price is nice. :-/
The idea of tossing a couple monitors into my laptop backpack is intriguing.

So for those of you that record...
    What monitors are you using?

I run a pair of Tannoy PBM8II. I’ve had them for about 25 years and they still sound great. They’re not small or portable, but for a home studio they’re good.

That’s how I feel...though some of my recordings do sound pretty good if I may say so myself. I put that down to being a better producer & engineer than I am a player though.
