    Name the Smoker-Need Your Help

    Greeting Pit Nation,

I need your help! At the suggestion of Mackdaddy we are having a “Name the Smoker contest.

If you haven’t seen my recent stick burner rework project you can check it out here:https://pitmaster.amazingribs.com/fo...aving-a-vision

Please help pick a name for this rig. Post your nomination in this thread.

Nominations will be accepted until 8/19/2015 8:00pm Eastern time.

Several members have been selected as a naming committee. Each member of the committee will choose one name from those posted here.

The committee will make their final selection by 8/26/2015 8:00pm Eastern time.

At that point we will post a poll so everyone can pick from one of the five finalists.

The winner will be declared a “honorary plank owner”. [An individual who was a member of the crew when a ship, but in this case smoker, was commissioned.] You will also receive some token of my appreciation.

Please review the name posted prior. In the case of duplicate names the Pit Member posting first hold title to that name.

Committee members are encouraged to nominate a name but will not be allowed to choose their own selection.

The order in which committee members will make their selection will be based on the date they became Pit master members.

    1st pick: Huskee 5/29/14
    2nd pick: smarkley 7/19/14
    3rd pick: DWCowles 7/24/14
    4th pick: richinlbrg 7/30/14
    5th pick: mackdaddy 7/3/15

    Jon Solberg Alternate 7/11/14

Thank you all in advance for your assistance in this. Committee members I will be in touch with you all soon.

    8/7/15 UPDATE:

    UPDATE:

Winner of the "Name the Smoker" will receive a new ThermoWorks ThermoPop from me!

Please keep your nominations coming and THANK YOU for all your support!

Looking forward to this. Off the top of my head came up with "The Porker Meat Smoker" or PMS for short. Sorry, the voices in my head told me to put it in.

The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

                    the good one grill
The Good-One Open Range is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.

Griddle And Deep Fryer In One

                    Pit Barrel Cooker Smoker
The flat top does the burgers and the fryer does the fries. Use the griddle for bacon, eggs, and home fries. Or pancakes, fajitas, grilled cheese, you name it. Why stink up the house deep frying and spatter all over? Do your fried chicken and calamari outside. Blackstone's Rangetop Combo With Deep Fryer does it all!

The Pit Barrel Cooker May Be Too Easy

                    Pit Barrel Cooker Smoker
The PBC has a rabid cult following for good reason. It is absolutely positively without a doubt the best bargain on a smoker in the world. Period. This baby will cook circles around the cheap offset sideways barrel smokers because temperature control is so much easier.
