Cooked chicken wings on charbroil super pro I refurbished. Did not come up to temp as I expected (320). Last time I used it was to hot for the ribs. Not consistent. Did not follow what my calibration run did. So I am thinking about ditching it and getting a Webber Kettle. Not sure what size to get. Any thoughts on that? Also what is the difference between the steel and copper kettles from Webber?

Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.
I personally would go with the 26 inch Weber kettle and the SnS. I have three 22 1/2 in. kettles and thinking about getting the 26 incher.

We have two weber kettle grills (one LARGE and one small/average), the SnS and the Weber Smokey Mountain 18" smoker. We use both natural lump charcoal and KNB for smoking and measure our temps with a Maverick 733, thermopen and MK4. Favorite beer depends on what is cooking (alt answer is yes).
26" . The end
We have a 26 and still have to break out the 18 occasionally. Just don't think you can go wrong. Insufficient grill space is just too frustrating. SnS is a must have now.

Dude, you cant go wrong with that rig. Your going to be happy!
I by no means want to disrespect my friend above but you can buy 2-22" for the price of a 26" and yield about 218 Sq in more cook space for the same money.
Keep in mind I'm really just jealous of my friends above that have 26's.Last edited by Jon Solberg; August 1, 2015, 01:57 PM.

Jon Solberg , I didn't know that (mine was a bday gift from #1)!
And you are correct, he really can't go wrong, esp with the SnS!
