Actually, HawkerXP post reminded me. Years ago on my 1st weber grill, I had an issue. The crossover rusted out. The result I couldn't lfire up all 3 burners. It was July 4th. I called never expected anyone to answer. They did. I explained the problem. The next day I received an entire kit to rebuild everything. Crossover, burners and anything else associated with it. I installed. The following day I received a follow up call to make sure I was all set. It sounds like those days are gone

After I tried to melt all the aluminum in my Genesis (fortunately did not entirely succeed) I called to order the parts I needed. I did not have any issues getting a nice lady to talk to who took my order. But that was probably ten years ago and I'm sure things have changed. Ten years ago my grill was manufactured in the U.S.

Bogy reminded me of my Genesis total meltdown. As a quick summary from a few years ago: after a cook with grill grates on I did a burnoff at fully opened burners. Went out later and totally destroyed. Knobs melted off. Inside was totally melted. My S.I.L. encouraged me to take pictures and send to Weber. I am thankful I didn't burn down my deck. I junked it. I did send the pictures explaining my blunder and I was not asking for any compensation. They got back to me to say I had a temperature of at least 1500 to 2000 to cause that kind of devastation. And they sent me a check for $100. Asked why, you're a loyal customer and we value that.
I still had most of my grill left. I replaced some of the lighter gauge pieces and used some sheet aluminum to replace where the cast aluminum had melted. Evidently when flaming grease drops on the propane hose and melts it in half the flaming propane hits the temps you mentioned. I explained to the gal what I had done, and she didn't offer to cover it under warranty and I didn't ask.
I quit being a firm believer in full sets of Grillgrates on my grills after I had a grease fire under them almost destroy my 2019 model Genesis II 4 burner when it was about 2 years old. The fire happened during preheat on high for 5-10 minutes a week or two after an apparently greasy cook. The fire literally destroyed two of my grillgrate panels and warmed the end of the firebox of the Genesis. I used clamps and blocks of wood to bend the grill back in to where the lid would close again.
To be fair, I am updating this.Weber originally sent me a new glow plug, which was not the issue. Finally found some traction with another department, they are sending a new auger assembly and a bag of mesquite pellets, which I would never have bought. We shall see.
