I wouldn’t treat your wood selection any different than you would with adding wood chunks on your kamodo... just remember that pellet smoke is much more delicate than other forms.

First cook I would suggest picking the wood of your choice...and let it go...
As Nate stated, pellet cookers tend to have lighter/more subtle smoke profile. Some prefer that (like my mother) which is why I suggest just letting it go the first time out. See what YOU think about it...because it will probably be much different than you’re used to. Not necessarily a bad thing, just different.
I tend to prefer more smoke...so when I’m asked to use my father’s Traeger, I ALWAYS add a smoke tube to bring up that profile.
