My 8 week project is Finally Complete

I started planning a outdoor cooking center months ago and I finally finished it this past week. It was fulfilling project and I am so happy on how it turned out.

Are there things I would have done different? Yup

Were there a couple hundred + curse words said over the last two months? Yes there was!

Were there a few things smashed along the way as the build went on. You bet ya.

I’d like to thank everyone for their suggestions and help for when I asked for them.

    Pictures are to follow.

On May 31st things were starting to look a bit more like a cooking center.

I figured out the drawers and started attaching the exterior on June 14th.

There were days I literally wrung out my shirt before I went into the house while building this.

I finished putting on the exterior and test fit my cookers on June 21st so I could figure out the dimensions of the top I needed to get fabricated.

On July 3rd I cut some HardieBacker cement board to go under the stainless steel top I was still trying to find someone to fabricate for me.

On July 7th I found someone to fabricate my top and on July 11th he delivered it. It fit like a glove.

Igloo party stacker coolers. They are a great size. Large footprint and shallow depth. The red one is for the meats when they come off of the grill and the blue one is for tasty beverages.

I had this past week off of work so on July 12th and 13th I attached the corners, mounted the Kettle, set the Griddle and dotted all my i and crossed all of my t.

I’ve grilled steaks and hotdogs on the Kettle since then and have seared scallops and have made breakfast on the Griddle. Right now I’m smoking a pork loin for dinner tonight.

                      I think she’s a keeper. 😆
