I think the edging is 4â€. You can get them at Home Depot or Lowe’s. I tried to make everything about 4â€. Some were deeper some a little less.

Dances with lemmings
(and smokes on a Yoder 640, raises bees and shoots a .408 WIndrunner) "come la notte i furti miei seconda"
It's DONE! Well, still have some gutters and drainage to finish but done enough to show some pics ...ok, way too many pics but here it is!

Raining --- so the Yoder 640 , the Blackstone grill and Weber are covered. You can see that the gutter is missing.

The idea was to blend it in as if it was originally part of the house and aI think that has been accomplished well. Here you can see the most expensive part...replacing all the concrete patios and around the pool with travertine and putting in those LEDs at the step down from the patio...

I didn't have a gasser so I added the RCS Cutlass Pro 38" with a side burner.

Originally I had all my stuff piled up on the patio. Now the spousal unit has her patio back. Of course I had to get it all refinished...to match my gear.

Sidewalk had to be unobstructed... I will add a few bar chairs. The grey thing is storage and on the right is the grill.
Another design objective was not to obscure the view from inside the house and that has been done very well.

I guess I am going to need a better chair for me as well! Went with cedar on the posts instead of matching the house to make it less visible from inside.

The vacuum doesn't stay here and the Yoder actually moves over to the right a bit... I have them scrunched up to finish some other stuff.

Had to include the built-in trash can...

view from the fire pit.

the tiles by the jacuzzi had started falling off (they were like the front of the jacuzzi) and I couldnt match them...so I used the same finish as the islands.

the marble was pretty high end.. i have had good luck with this model fridge in my hot garage so I will see how it does outside... not an outdoor rated fridge but I can buy 4 of these for what one of those babies costs... let's see how long they last

I guess storage doors are good bets... I don't have it finished inside of course.
pleased with the ceiling finish

the original sidewalk (refinished as part of the project) and new drainage.

wood burning grill/fire pit out for the grandsons to have the most expensive s'mores in history.

undermount sink ---only cold water but plenty of prep space.

view from the house

bonus pic.. I made these "garden spears" in my first and only glassblowing class in Santa Fe, NM

Of course I could have my local BBQ joint deliver breakfast lunch and dinner for the next 10 years for what I paid for it...

Here is my newly completed outdoor kitchen. The centerpiece is the Primo XL 400. Twin Eagles gas grill and Breakfast Club, ice machine, double drawer fridge, Drink well in curved bar, Hot/cold water and garbage disposal. I am pretty much self contained to do what I need to do outdoors. I'm very happy with how everything turned out.

RonB thanks! I'd like to take credit for the sign but it was made by a local artisan who sells her wares at a local farmer's market. I was a courseware author for Microsoft in a past life and am therefore kind of anal about grammar so I was really glad to see the apostrophe in "Paul's" or I wouldn't have been able to look at the sign. :-)
Dan Deter you and me both, just have to convince my CFO now.

I showed some of the "progress shots" Here is how it ended up.
Built the entire extension on with the intention that it looked like it had always been part of the house.
gasser and side burners, lots of trash cans and storage. granite countertops, all masonry internal, travertine floors
blackstone griddle
yoder 640 pellet pooper and weber do most of the heavy lifting.
fire pit mainly does s'mores and hot dogs with the stray "fun" steak
at one point all my cooking stuff was on the porch. that was a mess
roof of the outdoor kitchen...
from the front...
