My strategy has become, different zones. My main zone at my primary residence in the covered outdoor kitchen is to have a charcoal grill, a gas grill, and a flattop. But then I have a zone where the pizza oven is. I have yet another zone where the kettles live. At the cabin, it is a charcoal and gas grill in the outdoor kitchen plus, a cooking grate over the adjacent fire pit. Both properties have additional things like burners, microwaves, portables, etc. as well.Last edited by Attjack; July 21, 2022, 09:53 PM.

HawkerXP No, that's a leftover from a previous pastor. TV antenna. Very hard to get any kind of signal here. Unfortunately, the antenna on top of it is old enough it has broken elements and I never even tried to use it. I stream everything.

Once I get it cleaned up from this weekend, I will take more photos. We added a lot of cement (for us) this year, even added a concrete ramp off of the main path to get me up to water hose, and other cool uses. We had a great crew over yesterday helping put the gazebo together, 7-8 people took about 6 plus hours. But the gazebo is 100 mile wind rated, and a few tons of snow load capacity,

Finally getting my BBQ area finished. Had a fence put in and needed a bit of time for the jasmine, bougainvillea and liquidambar to grow before I posted. The area is small and no room to back up and take an overall pic...so first pic is when you walk into the area and then turn clockwise 360 degrees. Had to put a pic of my Dodger flag in the front. Hopefully they will follow the Rams as world champs

So ignore the grills, they got a lot of work in the last few weeks, hopefully they all get a spa day soon, like tomorrow.
here is a better set of photos from current state. We are still going to put up a ceiling fan in the gazebo, as well as get our lights set up around it, and an included power port and then some privacy curtains. we had some black dirt brought in after the concrete work, now to seed it and get the lawn healthy.

Man, some seriously nice outdoor kitchens here! Very envious. My avatar image is my entire cooking area, although I do have the SNS kettle on backorder to sit behind (from that pov) on the little mini-slab I recently uncovered. Maybe I'll post a pic after that's arrived and set up, but I definitely don't think I can hang in this thread...!

It’s not the cookers or outdoor kitchen, but it’s how you use them and in that you do well. No matter what you have someone else will always have bigger, newer, or fancier. There’s some gorgeous outdoor kitchens here, but not something you see in the rotten climate I live in much. I enjoy the virtual trips to more temperate areas.

TripleB Thanks! I’m not really complaining, I’m just happy to have a nice home that’s paid for!……but, I never cook in the garage except with my griddle. I get the afternoon sun whenever I’m cooking in the evening, with all that concrete and direct sunlight, it’s brutal in the summer…

Richard Chrz I was waiting til it was perfect to post my new cooking space, but by that time I'll be too old to use it. We built this
I'm installing Coolaroo shades per Dadof3Illinois suggestion. They only come in 3 widths, and none of them are a perfect fit. I Can't afford custom shades, so I'm going with the 72 inch shades installed on the outside and I'm cutting cedar blocks to hang the 93 inch shades over top of them, overlapping enough to get full coverage from side to side. I really need a ceiling fan that can stand the harsh weather here but the one I want costs $2300! More with a light attachment. As soon as the shades are up (3 down, 5 to go) the next order of business is gravel around the outside edges to prevent sand from splashing up onto the pavers when it rains, hang the tv, and call xfinity to come hook up a cable box for me. I ran cable, electricity, water, gas, and cable out to the space long before it was constructed. I'm waiting on my buddy to come hook my Camp Chef up to the gas line so I can be done with the propane tank.

Dadof3Illinois I got my Coolaroo shades installed and took your advice about that wireless receiver for the tv. It works great. Just found a killer mod for the shades that allows you to lower and raise them with a cordless drill or screwdriver that I'll post when I do it.

Richard Chrz it is incredible the improvement in your cooking in 4 years. Do you think you membership in AR has been worth the price? 🤔😁

Bogy I’ve said often to so many, absolutely this place has been my motivation to push and learn and imagine what could be possible outside of what I saw the kettle to be when Iwas growing up. Testing the science, and having the fortune of using time to my benefit. I have been blessed with an incredible amount of time to use however I see fit, I hope to never waste a second of it.Last edited by Richard Chrz; September 16, 2022, 07:21 PM.

That's really cool! I have 2 shades and 2 hand cranks. I might just do the mod to one of the cranks and leave the other stock. I can just see me accidentally having the Dewalt on high RPM and zinging that sucker to the moon! 😂

Hulagn1971 I bought a cheap Black N' Decker with low rpm's for that reason and I think I will buy another one. We have thunderstorms that blow in fast here, and with 8 shades to lower at the speed things could get wet fast with only one.
