When using rib racks to increase the amount of ribs you can cook at once, do you do anything to keep the ribs from flopping together? Or, do you just let the "ribs fall where they may"?

We have two weber kettle grills (one LARGE and one small/average), the SnS and the Weber Smokey Mountain 18" smoker. We use both natural lump charcoal and KNB for smoking and measure our temps with a Maverick 733, thermopen and MK4. Favorite beer depends on what is cooking (alt answer is yes).
I try to angle them to keep them apart, but they usually pretty much go whichever way they want and wind up touching SOMEWHERE. I think where ever they touch you'll not get the smoke flavor and good color, so hopefully they tough on the bone.

Thanks. I stuck some skewers through them riffing on something I saw on youtube. My skewers were too long to go straight from front to back so I criss-crossed them at an angle through all 3 racks. I hope it helps them keep apart a little better.
