    Informal Meat-Up In Chicago

How many of you are interested in getting together at a BBQ joint in or around Chicago for some drinks and food. Cash bar and we all chip in for the food. Strictly informal social get together for members and a guest or two. Chime in if you are interested so I can find a place that will hold us.

Depending on when it would be and our work schedules my wife and I would consider a trip to Chicago if we could make it work.

Same. I got united miles to burn and chitown is pretty doable. Although i might need to insist on a trip to calumet fisheries for some smoked shrimp.

I'd consider coming out from Seattle, if the time is right. Could visit family. Eat Pescado Zarandeado at Leña Brava. Grab an Italian Beef sandwich. A Chicago dog (no ketchup!!!)

I can make it, assuming date and time present no conflicts (and my schedule can be pretty empty, most times of the year).

                        So, yeah.

The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

The Good-One Open Range is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.

Winner of the National BBQ Association’s product of the year award. This 8.5″ x 11″ magnet contains more that 80 benchmark temperatures for meats (both USDA recommended temps as well as the temps chefs recommend), fats and oils, sugars, sous vide, eggs, collagens, wood combustion, breads, and more. Although it is not certified as all-weather, we have tested it outdoors in Chicago weather and it has not delaminated in three years, but there is minor fading.

                          Our Favorite Backyard Smoker

The amazing Karubecue is the most innovative smoker in the world. The quality of meat from this machine is astonishing. At its crux is a patented firebox that burns logs above the cooking chamber and sucks heat and extremely clean blue smoke into the thermostat controlled oven. It is our favorite smoker, period.

Grilla Pellet Smoker proves good things come in small packages

We always liked Grilla. The small 31.5″ x 29.5″ footprint makes it ideal for use where BBQ space is limited, as on a condo patio.
