I had to defend my title last night for the Friday Night Pillow fights….I knocked 58 right on his bohunkass!

58 limited falling over from a vicious whack of my pillow! (or was it from the Buffalo Trace?)

Before the pillow fights we had dinner at a place in town called The Piano Bar Steakhouse. The evening called for full adult supervision, but of course none were present. We had a great time last night, good food and lots of laughter.

Julia and Don recommended a place for lunch today in Bryan/College Station. It was only about a 45 minute drive for us from The Rainbow. Most of us hadn’t heard of it before but it recently made Texas Monthly’s top 50 list. It was a nice scenic drive which made the trip more enjoyable. The place is called 1775 Texas Pit BBQ.

After about a 15-20 minute wait we made our way to place our orders.

Everyone agreed, this place was a hit! Everything we had was fantastic and even the sides rated from pretty good to excellent. I ordered a combination pulled pork and sausage sandwich with a side of corn casserole. The sandwiches were huge as I was barely able to finish it. The pork was a delicious all beef cheese and jalapeño style. And I can’t rave enough about their house made BBQ Sauce, everyone agreed it was some of the best we’ve had. I liked it so much I bought some to bring home with me. I chatted briefly with the owners, who are brothers, and along with one of their wives run the place. They were very friendly and actually apologized for not being able to come tableside and chat with us. Uuh, no problem, I think he was a little busy…..

I’m sure Troutman will be along soon with even better pics and editorial.

It was JC! You’ll hear some thoughts from the others later as well. I had a bite of Julia’s turkey…..even that was heavenly..moist, smoky and tender!

So Panhead John (aka Mr. Impatient) waits for me to do a write-up by doing a pre-write up. Okay. I got nothing left to say other than the 'cue was excellent.

I know a few people here kid me about the beer I drink, but once they actually tasted the Coors Light, they became believers. Everyone was commenting about how much they liked it, and most said they will start drinking it from here on out…🙄 In fact, Uncle Bob actually went to the liquor store around the corner and bought him a 12 pack.
