Questions for the standard flow stick burners present or past.
How critical do you feel a tuning plate is?
Do you think that the need for a tuning plate is relative to the size of the cook chamber? I know that LARGE standard flows, say 1000 gallon, dont run them as far as I can find. Would a smaller cooker receive more benefit than a large?

Yeah, it was sooooooo hot near the firebox I needed a spot to put a pan of water to chill that side some.
No offset will be even steven, there is some radiant heat you just have to accept. Even the owner of Jambo Pits will tell you his pits are hotter RIGHT NEXT to the firebox.
I also didn't really feel like messing with multiple plates.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.
