    Kreuz's Lockhart

    One of the "holy sights" for BBQ enthusiasts, this large Lockhart BBQ joint makes a nice brisket and great sausage. No forks, no sauce. Cooked pretty hot and fast it is still tender and delicious. I added some beans, a Mexican coke and a coconut pie. Well worht the trip and then you can take the 85 mph SH 130 into San Antonio.

      I'm thinking maybe they sip the beans out of the bowl and used the hands for the pie 😊. Of course I eat my beans with a spoon.

    They had spoons. The pie is one of those round ones. Used my hands.

        Jerod Broussard Pi are not square pie are round, cornbread are square.

        It's time we teach kids things correctly...pi is something you eat, Tau is what you math with!

          You never met my grandma, every time I went for a visit she made me a pie in a 9x13 cake pan. Her real pie pan was a 10" hexagon which made it easy for a kid to figure out how to cut a slice of pie.

          _John_, cornbread are not square because if cooked properly, i.e. in a cast iron skillet, they will be round, unless, of course, you have a square cast iron skillet.

        I've been meaning to try their sausage since you can have it delivered, need to do it already. If you are down San Antonio way I recommend you hitting 18 at the quarry, beautiful place I played at a few years back.

          Kreuz's is good but I thought the meats were a bit salty and I prefer sauce over sauceless BBQ. If you haven't already, you should try Louie Mueller Barbecue in Taylor. The beef rib is unbelievable. I think mine was 1.5 lbs (about 1 lb of that was bone) and it cost $18 but was worth it. Even Aaron Franklin says you should try it.

            +1 on Mueller's(pronounced Miller's), I've eaten there once and dreamed about going back ever since.

            I'd really like to try the Kreuz sausage.
