My name is Gavin Burke, AKA "The Burkester" I am very happy to have found this place where science meets food and nice people share great information. I started with a trial membership but soon, after a week, realized what I had found and became a full member.
I am an avid hunter and fisherman, owner of a construction company and barbecue lover. My wife and I both enjoy grilling, smoking and outdoor cooking. We have a full patio with a Weber 22’ kettle, Weber Genesis 4 burner propane, GMG Davey Crockett pellet grill, an array of cast iron, and our new love, the PBC.
I came from a cooking family and my first job at 15-1/2 was in a Texas style bbq restaurant. I loved barbecue but followed my other love of building as my career path and barbecue was something for nights and weekends with friends and family.
Since finding you guys my barbecue game has improved by ten fold. I immediately read all of the Meathead and Fzxdoc I could absorb and then went down the rabbit hole of info with Dr. Blonder. Looking forward to being part of this great place and sharing the fun of barbecue!
