    Greetings

    Hi Folks -
My wife and I bought a house in North Carolina (near Lake Norman) and we're making the permanent move from southern California in a few weeks.
I've had a Weber Summit for 12 years but it is not making the move.
I've had my eye on a Yoder pellet smoker but the paint and rust issues have me looking again.
I'm all over the Memphis Grills Elite. This will be my soon-to-retire forever grill.
Looking forward to enjoying the site and some good eats!

First, welcome from WI. Second, you’ll love it there. I lived there for 5 years 2009-2014. Great place to live. Third, I know nothing about Memphis grills so sorry, no help there. 🤷‍♂️

                Welcome from south Texas!

I loved my YS640 for it rock solid cooking performance and great flavor profile, but the rust issues spoiled it for me. I can’t recommend the Yoder highly enough for anyone not bothered by the rust maintenance issues. I hear the newer ones have a better coating. But I’m moving on. Not in the tax bracket for the Memphis grills, tho.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. I am so looking forward to the world of slow cooking and smoke. So much to learn and good eating all along the way!

Hey mcook - we are neighbors right around the lake from each other. I'll be sure to send out a Hello once we're settled in (Early October)
