    Hello Hardcore BBQ Friends,

I started really getting into BBQing this past March by purchasing the Meathead book and watching countless YouTube videos. I have only done a pork butt and a brisket so far and both turned out really good and have approval from my family (of course most family members will say I did great even if they are lying) and friends. Right now I only use the Weber Kettle with the Slow N Sear. I will be getting a smoker sometime in the near future. I loved the book and this website and I knew I had to join it. I defiantly want to perfect BBQ and enjoy it for me, my family, and neighborhood friends. I look forward to learning here and taking it all in.

I hope everyone has a great week and we be grilling this weekend!

Welcome to the Pit! You already have two great tools, the kettle and the SnS. I would also suspect you have some temperature measuring devices also. With these the world of grilling and smoking is all yours!

Yep I made sure I got some probes. Especially since my current grill (my father) doesn’t have a thermometer on the grill but, I also know that is not reliable.

They's definitely some folks up in here, what can flat-arsed run a Weber 22.5 / SnS combo, an many beyond count that would claim one as their Desert Island Cooker...:

Welcome to the PIT from the Lou! As a Weber kettle devotee, I suggest you look into the other grate (great?!) configurations. I love the racetrack with the removable center, the CI (cast iron) racetrack insert for searing, a vortex basket for the coals, and using a CI wok in the center as well. This will lead you to getting MCS (look it up - your site newbie homework... LoL), as I have and most here do.
