    Hello from Bulldog!

Greetings all ... this is my first post and, yes, I'm a noob griller. No shame in admitting that!

To my fellow noobs I would say that to succeed with a barbecue, you should have two things:
    1. a spirit of adventure and a willingness to experiment; and
    2. an understanding family.
I have a Weber Master-Touch 22-inch charcoal grill in Black (Part #14501001.) Couldn't find other colors at the time I bought. Along with that I have the usual accessories, but I'll mention two of them here: My Grill Armor gloves are fantastic. I can forget that I'm holding a searing hot grate. (Not a good habit!) I'll also mention my Kona "Safe/Clean" bristle-free grill brush. I bought it because I'm really scared about getting a metal bristle in someone's meal. The Kona seems to be doing a good enough job cleaning my grate, but then I don't have a metal bristle grill brush to compare.

Like other noobs, I'm starting my barbecue hobby with the basics: burgers and steaks. I figure, once I get accomplished with direct heat, I can move on to indirect heat and more complicated cooks.

I don't expect I'll be much of a contributor here at the beginning - more of a listener and note taker. I joined the Pitmaster Club because most of you are probably way over my head when it comes to barbecue skills, and that's the way I like it to be. There are plenty of tips and ideas that a noob can glean from the accumulated wisdom here - in addition to all that the Amazing Ribs website offers.

Welcome from north Texas. You’ll enjoy the Pit. But don’t be shy! Get a pork butt and do some pulled pork indirect on that Weber! You’ll be a veteran in no time, and it’s almost idiot-proof! People will think you’re a born pitmaster!
