    Welcome to The Pit Randy. I have two suggestions for accessories as funds permit:

    Slow N Sear - a big help for Low and Slow
    Vortex - makes the best chicken with the crispest skin

      This always produces very crisp skin. I normally use S&G for a rub and you have to be careful using a rub or sauce with sugar in it. Sugar burns at high temps.

      I cain't top what they all had to say bout th Slow n Sear...but I can tell ya this:
      I have 5, countin th XL...
      Mebbe yer mileage'll vary, but I'm leanin t'wards 'Nope'. Git one. Makes Life easier.
