    Hello from Brooklyn!

In January we moved into an apartment with our own roof deck. The previous tenants had left an electric grill, which was pretty wimpy, but despite never having been much of an outdoor cook before I got really into it very quickly, especially with more time at home during lockdown. In May I had a big birthday and since the party I had planned wasn't going to happen my wife instead gifted me a Kamado Joe Classic, which then of course led me down the rabbit hole of briskets, ribs, reversed seared steaks, pizza, etc. and now I ended up here, so hi!

The kamado definitely has a learning curve and my family has had to suffer through some burnt steaks and overcooked pork, but it's been fun learning about all this stuff and I'm hoping to learn more from all y'all.

Welcome~! I haven't been to Brooklyn in a few years but I fell in love with Forcella and their unique fried pizza! If you have any secret access to their meatball recipe featuring walnuts I'd love to get my hands on it-

Welcome to the Pit from Dallas! I am a Big Green Egg guy. For me low and slow and roasting are the easiest with grilling being more challenging.

Welcome to The Pit. Kamados are great for pizza I hear. Don't have one though...

Welcome. I lived in Brooklyn for 30 years. Raised my daughter there. Got divorced and moved to the sticks for love. I still miss Brooklyn. I lived mostly in Bay Ridge.
