Greetings and salutations. I am Rob Thatcher - a husband of 1 (27 years), father of 2 (boy and girl), oldest of 3 (all boys), and according to the member list - the 4th Pitmaster Club member in Leesburg FL (NW of Orlando).
I feel like I am in my 20th season of my 1st year of grilling - grilled rarely, charred much for many years, but have been recently "upping my game." I was gifted Meathead's book recently and had some time (furloughed since early April - returning to FT work in mid-July) to direct to my BBQ game.
I have a Weber Performer (love it) and after reading about how to grill low and slow, I downloaded a ribs recipe and determined to get it right. The meal was a knockout!
I went on to order some thermometers and other tools (suggested by Meathead in his book) that I felt I needed to really make my grill work for me and my family and have been digging into the tools here at AmazingRibs.
I am excited to learn more and to share in the community. Thank you to those that have been here a piece - y'all's longevity, kindness, and care make such a place possible.
Tonight - I am grilling sausages (recipe) and asparagus (recipe) and drinking my favorite gin cocktail (recipe).
