    New member, newish to BBQ

Hi all from over the pond in the UK.

Been grilling for a few years with my Weber Kettle and have solely taken my guide from the Weber book, but rarely been adventurous with my cooks. A leg of lamb, until recently, was my most daunting cook as opposed to the normal sausages, burgers and chicken breasts.

I maybe doing my fellow countryfolk a massive injustice here (and no offence is meant to those UK members), but I think all would agree we are not renown for our grilling skills. I include myself in that wide sweeping statement, but amongst my friends I know only two that share my growing passion for all things BBQ.

My wife bought me Meathead's "The Science of Great Barbecue and Grilling" and I was recommended to buy a Slow and Sear and WOW, how those two items have changed my grilling!

Managed pulled pork sandwiches about a month ago and last week it was Texas Short Ribs. Man I'm hooked.

For this glorious weekend and to celebrate VE Day I am trying my first spatchcock chicken. (I pay tribute to all the veterans and the fallen heroes from all countries in all conflicts).

Looking forward to learning and sharing ideas.

I wish you all a great weekend.

Welcome from Colorado. I have to say that I’ve spent a LOT of time in England over the years ... not quite evenly divided between London and, strangely enough, Tetbury.
