    New To The BB-Crew!! ;)

Hello there!! My name is April, but a lot of people call me "Texas!" You are more than welcome to as well. I am from the great state of Texas, but currently live in Minnesota! I have loved cooking and BBQ-ing my whole life and at my house.....I run the grill! I have your typical charcoal grill , but I finally ordered a Traeger Tailgater Pellet grill and it should be here in a few days. Any tips on these Traeger's?? I'd love to hear some feedback good or bad. When we get settled in TN. I will start looking into pit smokers...just trying to downsize for the move! I also love using ThermoPro thermometers. We will be moving to Tennessee around Sept. so that I can be closer to family and a specialist. I had to have brain surgery 6 years ago to remove an Arachnoid cyst the size of a baseball from my left frontal lobe and I was doing great until I started feeling weird again. I found out in February (2020) that it had actually returned. Right now I am doing good and don't have the symptoms nearly as bad as before, but Tennessee has some great specialists that know how to handle these things! Plus, I'm looking forward to way warmer weather again!! Lol I will also finally get back to having my career of being a Cremation Operator and Funeral Director....since I won't be so rural! I've had to put that career on hold for a few years and It's time to get back to it! I had a friend buy me an apron with "Funeral Director and Head chef...any questions? Written on it! Let's just say it makes for very interesting conversations! Lol Well, that's all I have for now. Can't wait to meet all of y'all and learn about some BBQ competition cooking and great tips and advice from everyone! Have a great night!!

LA Pork butt, I have been sympathizing with your LA background all this time and now you tell us you live in Big D?
My family settled LA in 1714 as the first of 11 families appointed by King Louis the 14th. Anyway I live in Victoria, TX a native Houstonian born and raised and have lived in Grand Isle for 9 years past. So, your are now considered a native
Texan, glad to see you got to :The BBQ State"!

Welcome from Chattanooga. What part of TN are you moving to? I have a Traeger Scout that works ok for grilling, it is pretty small and I haven't tried any slow low atuff on it yet. It doesn't hold low temps very well.
