Hello everybody. I consider myself fairly new to the bbq scene. I’ve been at for the last 3 summers. I’ve done two briskets, 2 pork shoulders, a bunch of ribs, a few turkeys and turkey breasts, and then the usual burgers, brats fish and shrimp etc.
I own a Weber kettle, a few Weber gas grills, a cheapo grill that I learned how to set up dual zone cooking on, and soon a Traeger. Almost forgot about the Ugly Drum smoker I built. I highly recommend building one just to say you did.
I try to make all of my rubs and sauces from scratch. My goal this summer is just really to be better than last summer. I say summer, but I get out there when the urge hits me. Last time I put something on the grill was last November.
I also want to eat at a few of the local places in Chicago. One called Smoque is not far from me. The brisket is supposed to be awesome.
