Welcome to The Pit RayMau ! I too am enjoying the less-cold weather. Was nice a week or two ago, now it's only "better than February", can't wait until more warmth though.

Since this is your first post, please check out our homework assignment post for new members, it contains a few how-tos and please-dos.

Hope to hear & see more from you!

Welcome to the pit! I would really love Chicago if they could relocate it a few hundred miles south.

Hey, welcome to the Pit! I am also a Ray from the Chicago area...far west burbs. If you're ever in Kane county, just follow the scent of smoking chicken right to my door.

Received membership in the Pit as a gift from my wife and am looking forward to learning more and sharing what little I know! Live in Chicago's northwest suburbs and use a Great Outdoors Smoky Mountain smoker, at least when there isn't a ton of snow on the ground and negative temperatures outside!

GrillGrates Take Gas Grills To The Infrared Zone

Our Favorite Backyard Smoker

The amazing Karubecue is the most innovative smoker in the world. At its crux is a patented firebox that burns logs above the cooking chamber and sucks heat and extremely clean blue smoke into the thermostat-controlled oven. Click here for our review of this superb smoker.

The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

The Good-One Open Range is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker, placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side. Click here to read our complete review.
