Greetings from the LOU, and welcome to the PIT!

If you like doing things yourself, and you like Weber equipment, use a search engine to lookup Weber Smokey Joe Smoker Conversion. You'll have fun if
fabricating is your thing, and you'll have a better smoker for it.

started a topic Hello from Holland...

    Hello from Holland...

...that is Holland Township NJ. We are tucked in the NW corner of Hunterdon County near the PA border.

I've been a long time outdoor cooker using a nice Weber gas grille. A few months ago I become obsessed with picking out a small smoker to move to the low and slow world of outdoor cooking. Looking to keep things as simple as possible I picked out a very small and inexpensive electric smoker. After that I soon picked up a Thermopro tp20 to help with things. In the last few months I've done pork shoulders, briskets and a few lamb steaks. I had a much better time after fashioning a warming blanket around the unit. Before that she really struggled to maintain the temp during cold or windy days. I attached a horrible picture of my handwork. I was lazy and it was too cold to go outside for the pic.
Now I'm looking to making things a little more complicated. Thinking about getting an 18" WSM.

So far I have been enjoying myself just reviewing all of the great conversations on this site.

    Rich.
