    Hello from NC

Hello from Raleigh, NC. Yes, I grew up with whole hog, eastern NC vinegar sauce. For about 15 years I travelled regularly for work and came to appreciate the BBQ made all over the southeast, although what I grew up with is still best . Well, that and Memphis ribs. And since I married a Texan, I've gotten to appreciate good Brisket, although I still don't call it BBQ.

Despite growing up around it, and many years cooking on charcoal and gas, I'm new to doing low and slow myself. I currently have a Webber gasser which I love, and am looking for (and saving up for) a pellet smoker.

Welcome from Maryland. I grew up just down the road from you. It doesn’t matter how much I have traveled nor how much other styles I have tried, Eastern NC BBQ still my favorite, but closely followed by Texas style.

                          Hey,and welcome Dan!
I too am partial to the East Carolina style sauce on pork!!😋 The real stuff!!
I used to live in Southern Virginia and on the Outer Banks. I remember those rural roadside smoke shacks having the best pulled pork sandwiches in the world!!!
and always a cooler full of ice cold beer!!...my mind drifts back!
Tried to copy the recipe but couldn't ever get it right!!!
                          Appreciate any input .
                          👍
