    Greetings from Shingle Springs CA

    Recently retired and moved to Shingle Springs, in the Sierra foothills between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe. Great to be out of the rat race of the bay area. Have lots of time now for BBQ, Pizza, RC planes, training our new German Sheppard pup and a little golf.

                      You question caused me to look it up. We are in the California Gold Rush Area. Shingle Springs, like most towns here were established by a miners camp. It’s named after a horse drawn mobile shingle machine, that produced 16,000 shingles per day. I didn’t know that until now
