Hello all,
After deciding to get more serious with my outdoor cooking, thought that I should get the best value from being a member of the club. I have learnt so much from the site prior to joining the club so it only felt right to support it and get acquainted with all the fine folks here.
I have been a gas person for many years now, and want to move on my cooking to go beyond my usual variations of beer can chicken, seared beef and pizza. After a lot of research, getting to grips with a number of charcoal grills and getting some serious hands on time, as well as saving up, I went for a Summit charcoal recently. I really want to start messing with different woods for smoking, sauces that I haven't heard of before, and just play with the flavours of my food. I've always enjoyed cooking outdoors, with a nice covered gazebo to keep the British weather away, and love to see what others do, the pitfalls (pun intended) that should be avoided, the lessons to be learnt (and I am sure there are many!) and just share the enjoyment.
Also planning my first Turkey this year, but pretty nervous knowing the outcome from the family if I get that wrong!
