Greetings from Montgomery County, Maryland!

Long time reader, Pit member since October '16, first time poster. Thanks to all for such a great site. I visit here often!

I've been grilling for a number of years, and feel like I still have a ways to go. I started with a piece of junk gas grill that decided to light its own control knobs on fire (that was fun), and then graduated / moved up to a Weber gas grill (Silver C, in case you care) that is still running like a champ.

Last year, we took the plunge and got a Weber Summit Charcoal (WSC) that has been great. With all due respect to gas grills, switching to charcoal has been a game changer.

The gas grill is still used, but mainly for starting the Weber Chimney (via the side burner) or for making grilled lemonade or veggies.

I just ordered a Slow 'N Sear low profile and I'm looking forward to playing with that.

Thanks to this site, we've made a bunch of great ribs, steak, pulled pork, turkey and chicken dishes. Fish has proven a challenge, but !

Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.
