Thanks for the welcome!
HouseHomey - my favorite visit to a brewery was somewhere near you - just outside of Santa Barbara, at Firestone Walker's Barrelworks. Great stuff.
Huskee - Bell's is great, Two Hearted Ale is an old favorite, way ahead of its time
EdF I just recently moved from Southie (South Boston, for the non locals) to Merrimac/Amesbury MA and commute to Cambridge for work. It's a weird area - nothing walking distance except the water, but a close drive to Newburyport and Portsmouth NH and under an hour to Boston and Portland ME. Ipswich is about 30 minutes away.
There are some impressive breweries in within an hour, some of my favorites are:
- Local: Trillium (Boston) for hops, Deciduous (Newmarket, NH) for sours, and Night Shift (Everett, MA) for both.
- Regulars in my rotation: Bissell Brothers (Portland), Oxbow (Portland), Garrison City (Dover, NH), Lamplighter (Cambridge), Smuttynose (Portsmouth), etc.
- Slightly further drives (< 3 hrs) are Treehouse, the Alchemist, Lawson's, and Hill Farmstead.
