    Egghead in Tampa

    Hello all! Slightly experienced Big Green Egg user in Tampa, Florida. I absolutely love good barbecue and most everything else cooked well. Some experience with ribs using the 3-1-1 or 2-1-1, but there's always room for improvement. Also done a good bit of pulled pork and several good briskets. Started off my amazingribs membership with Meathead's Char Siu Ribs last weekend and they were a big hit. Very interested in branching out to other critters and recipes, including, but not at all limited to, baking on the Egg. [Really hoping to learn how to make a pie crust that doesn't suck.]

    I'm trying to pick up as much food science as I can, which led me to Meathead (by way of J. Kenji Lopez-Alt). Anyway, looking forward to learning and maybe even contributing.

    Since this is your first post, please check out our homework assignment post for new members, it contains a few how-tos and please-dos. This will help you learn your way around so you can get the best experience from our forum.

                    Welcome to The Pit. For pie crust, Kenji has the easiest/best pie crust recipe I have found:



                    I've never had a failure using that recipe.

                          Welcome to The Pit. We are happy to have you. I have been to Tampa a few times.....back in my old playing days. (Outback Bowl) Ybor City was always a great time.
